Oceanic Imprints

2024

Oceanic Imprints is an ongoing series that transfers underwater imagery onto ceramic plates, allowing each work to retain the folds, creases, and distortions formed during the process. These marks are not imperfections—they are intentional traces that echo the shifting conditions of the ocean itself.

As the images stretch, wrinkle, or fracture across the ceramic surface, they mirror the structural pressures unfolding underwater: thinning tissues, disrupted currents, fragmented ecosystems, and the quiet instability of marine life. Placed onto everyday tableware, these distorted seascapes turn familiar objects into subtle records of ecological change, each plate becoming an imprint of a sea in transition—part memory, part fragment, part warning.

Oceanic Imprints continues to expand as new images and material experiments are added, forming a growing archive of the ocean’s shifting visual and ecological forms.
